LANDOWNER SURVEY
Post-Flood Recovery River Assessment Triage Team
The dawn of June 13, 2022 will remain a horrifying memory for many in the Stillwater Valley. Anyone having a residence or property along the Stillwater River’s main tributaries awoke to one of the most extreme natural disasters this area has ever seen in documented history. The SVWC strives to continue to strengthen community resilience and healing by establishing a River Assessment Triage Team (RATT).
The team includes a geomorphologist, hydrologic engineer, fisheries biologist, local Conservation District and SVWC. This team will assess local rivers (Stillwater, East Rosebud, Rosebud and West Rosebud) as a whole, focusing priority reaches and landowners, landscapes and natural resources most impacted by the June flood disaster.
RATT Objectives:
IN ORDER TO ENSURE THE SUCCESS OF THE RATT, WE NEED YOUR INPUT.
We appreciate your time as you take a few minutes to complete the brief survey below, giving the SVWC and Triage Team a better idea of local needs and concerns.

RATT Objectives:
- Evaluate the impacts of the June 2022 flood on major Stillwater watershed tributaries to document the character of the event and its ramifications.
- Document impacts, described in terms of primary geomorphic processes at work, and conceptual alternatives providing flood mitigation strategies that are cost-effective and support the long-term health of the river systems and landowners involved.
- Present permitting requirements with a summary of potential funding opportunities.
- Ease the financial burden for landowners, providing specific site reports as well as best practice recommendations for river cleanup and stream bank restoration efforts.
